Meet Caitlin, your Doula

Caitlin brings a unique blend of play and physiology to her doula work. Growing up with Developmental Dyspraxia, she learned to break down every physical skill step-by-step to understand her own body. What she once saw as a weakness became her greatest strength, providing her with a profound understanding of human physiology. She previously applied this expertise as a personal trainer at Blink Fitness and New York Sports Club, helping numerous clients understand their bodies and achieve their fitness goals. With a BS in Theatre & Film, Caitlin brings empathy and spontaneity from these art forms into the Labor & Delivery room.

Throughout her life, Caitlin was struck by the prevailing distrust of the human body when it came to childbirth, her mom spoke of childbirth with awe, why did others approach it with fear? After experiencing the callousness of the medical during a miscarriage in 2019, Caitlin felt drawn to make the reproductive journey better, and Doulas did that. This career perfectly combined her deep understanding of physiology with a desire to empower people to trust their bodies, regardless of their specific birth plan.

Caitlin has been DONA-certified since 2022 and has a wide range of experience supporting a diverse set of scenarios. She is experienced with home births, hospital births, birth center care, preeclampsia, planned and emergency C-sections, inductions, choleostasis, unmedicated births, fertility treatments, and specific dietary needs like Vegan, Gestational Diabetes, and Kosher diets. She's comfortable supporting a variety of family dynamics, including single parents, interracial couples, LGBTQ families, parents with disabilities, and incorporating religious practices into childbirth.

"My goal as a doula is to facilitate a positive birth experience for the growing family, whatever that experience may look like. I am happy to work with families with all different types of birth plans, backgrounds, body types, and family preferences. It is my strong belief that a doula should be accessible to all birthing people regardless of gender, sexuality, race, disability, faith, or socioeconomic background."

What is a Doula?

What Labor is Like w/a Doula Video

The word "doula" comes from ancient Greek meaning "a woman who serves". Today a doula is as a trained pregnancy and labor coach. Whether you need quiet and calm or dancing away the pain. A Doula provides support to the pregnant person as well as their partner. For a more in depth discussion please check out Evidence Based Birth:
